Obituary of Priscilla Mary Freeman

Priscilla Mary Freeman, 81, passed away in the home she shared with her daughter and son-in-law in Tigard, Oregon on February 12th, 2020. Priscilla is proceeded in death by her husband, Kenneth Irving Freeman, her sisters Merna Newberry and Marilyn Post, and parents John and Kathryne Glen. Priscilla is lovingly remembered by her children, Diana Love, Kenneth J. Freeman, and Laurie Takashima, as well as grandchildren April Wolke, Brandon Tallett, Lydia Bowerly, Taylor Franklin, and Hunter Franklin. Priscilla Mary Freeman was born in Royal Oak, Michigan on July 26th, 1938. She graduated from Frederick High School in Michigan in 1956, and soon became the spouse of a Navy man. Over the next twenty years, the couple and their family were reassigned almost yearly. Through all the moves and upheavals, Priscilla kept the family together while also working at various jobs. She particularly loved being a window dresser for a department store. A woman of diverse interests, she also raised and showed West Highland White terriers, and, later in life, kept her mind sharp with puzzles and games. Priscilla was the daughter of an immigrant from Scotland, and grew to love family history, digging deep into the historical record to learn more about the roots and branches of her family tree. Today she is also remembered and loved by her many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, as well as other relatives she has connected with through decades of genealogy research. A gravesite service is being held at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Tigard, OR on February 29th at 11 A.M., followed immediately after by a Celebration of Life at the home of Priscilla's daughter, Laurie Takashima. All friends and family are welcome.
