Obituary of Dennis Michael Negley
Dennis Michael Negley of Beaverton, Oregon, passed away on Friday, 15 November 2019 from complications of advanced stage renal disease. He was 71 years old. Dennis was born on August 20, 1948 in McMinnville, Oregon, the son of James and Eloise (Knock) Negley. He graduated from High School in Modesto, California in 1966 and from the University of California Davis in 1970 with a BS in Zoology. He became a member of the Church of Scientology and was ordained as a Minister in 1978. He was a staff member at the Church of Scientology of San Francisco from 1973-1981 and again from 2006-2008. He was the Chairman of the Church’s lay committee and as such was instrumental in raising the funds for the new church building, dedicated in 2003. The Chairman of the Board of the Church of Scientology International personally commended him for his efforts in this endeavor. He also was a licensed Mortgage Lender. In 2016 he followed his daughter to Beaverton, Oregon where he retired and lived out the rest of his days. Dennis is survived by his wife of almost 45 years, Wendy (Peterson) Negley; son, Sean of San Francisco; daughter, Devin (John) Weber and grandchildren, Crispin and Elinor Weber of Beaverton. Dennis was known for his kindness, generosity, wonderful sense of humor and excellent advice. “I think one of the most vital measurements of a person’s life is the number of friends he or she has…A man is as rich as he has friends.” L.
