Obituary of James Joseph Marron
James (Jim) Joseph Marron IV, age 60, formerly of Coos Bay, OR, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 after a long battle with liver cancer. Born July 12, 1960 in San Diego, CA to Jim Marron III and Patricia Marron (Berndt). He was a graduate of El Captain High School in Lakeside, CA in 1978. In Jim’s early 20’s, he was the mechanic for Ricky Johnson, Bob Sullivan, and Scott Burnworth. The racers claimed that if Jim was working on your dirt bike during races, it was a sure bet you were going to win. Jim was a master carpenter who developed the layouts for thousands of homes in the greater San Diego area. In the early 1990’s,Jim and his family of three, moved to Springfield, OR to work for Dorman Construction Company. Throughout the years, Jim was the lead on the building of the dorms at Southwestern Oregon Community College, as well as, an extension of King Estate Winery in Eugene, OR. Jim’s vast knowledge of carpentry took him to build a few log homes all over the state of OR and even took him to HI to build a custom home. In 2015, Jim hung up his tool belt and settled in Coos Bay, OR. He called it “God’s Country” and it truly was his happy place. Throughout the years, Jim traveled in CA from his sister’s homes and his father’s, to his daughter’s in Springfield, OR, all the way up to his son’s in Seabeck, WA. Jim’s dream was always to travel to National Parks. He was able to travel to Glacier, Yellowstone, and Redwoods National Parks all in his Honda Pilot. Jim enjoyed hunting and most of all, fishing. You could always find Jim driving around with his fishing pole “just in case.” He bestowed his love of fishing to his grandson, Levi, taking him often, and also enjoyed watching Levi learn how to ride his dirt bike. If he wasn’t fishing or with his grandson, he was at the sand dunes, watching the sunrise and sunset over Chicken Point, OR, and shooting his Walther PPK. Jim is survived by his wife- Paula Marron, who resides in Springfield, OR; son- Jim Marron V of Seabeck, WA; daughter- Brooke Johnson (Marron), grandson Levi Johnson and husband Justin Johnson of Springfield, OR;father- Jim Marron III of Temecula, CA; sister-Patty Sousek (Marron) and husband Ed Sousekof Escondido, CA; sister- Dottie Marron of Escondido, CA; sister- Kathy Durrer (Marron)and husband John Durrer of Prescott, AZ; as well nephews and as a niece. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Marron. Jim had requested to not have a funeral service, however family is planning a Celebration of Life for close family and friends that will be held at a later date. His wishes were for his ashes to be spread in Coos Bay, OR, in addition to a vineyard that his late mother’s ashes were spread to rest. The family would like to invite you to leave a message or memory at autumn-funerals-cremation.com/obituaries under Jim’s obituary. Jim will be greatly missed by his many surviving family and friends; he is now at peace in his mother’s arms and is fishing with Bob in heaven.
