For several years Ed served on the Board of Directors of Rock West training center. Ed enjoyed volunteering at several local charities. He belonged to NAPM (now ISM) and also APICS. Groups formed to teach and promote ethical purchasing practices where Ed rose to the position of vice-president. He met many interesting people from other countries and cultures during his career. Ed was also a Navy veteran. He loved the ocean, especially the Oregon Coast and spent many happy hours with son Pat on field trips to the shore.
