Candle lit by Brittany Ortiz (formerly Jackson) In October 2018 I was finally able to return to Portland and my first stop was to try and visit Marc. I had lost touch over the years, though he had met my husband after we had married. I was unable to reach him and I had not idea he would be gone that very same year. Marc was an integral part of my life in Beaverton and Portland, Oregon. He was a friend, he cut my hair, he dog-sat my precious Daschund. In fact, he spoiled Keegan, cooking her home-cooked meals. He made me laugh and always made me feel like a "Southern Belle". I am heartbroken I could not see him again. His talents were innumerable. He took a simple apartment and made it glamorous, sewing his own curtains and even shower curtain! I was fortunate to eat some of his delicious, made-from-scratch food. There IS no one else like him. I have missed him and I miss him all the more now. Here is to seeing Marc on the other side. Rest in Peace.
