Obituary of Jessie Willard Powers

Jessie was born in Trenton, New Jersey to Ernest and Lilly Powers. He was one of 10 children. He is proceeded in death by both parents and brother Jimmy. He is survived by wife Ruth of 56 years. Daughter Karen Grovom + Husband Evan Son Kenneth + Wife Savanna Grandchildren: Ashley + Chris Grovom Forrest + Mikaela Warnock Mackenzie + Mac Neal Aiyanna + Logan Powers Great Grandchildren-Dexter, Laegatha, Finlee and Addie + fun, faithful dog “Cerbie” Brothers: Billy + wife Mary in Virginia Raymond + Betty in North Carolina Ernie + Lou Ann in West Virginia Wayne + Brenda in West Virginia Freddy + Barbara in West Virginia Sisters:Shirline + husband Buddy in West Virginia Patty Saltz in South Carolina Cindy Crotty in Virginia as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He passed away at his home in Forest Grove, OR, where he was surrounded by his family after a long illness. He enjoyed all of his family, travel, going on road trips to check out the casinos with our friends Don & Mary of 40+ years. He liked spending time at the beach and going out to eat. He also enjoyed doing yard work when he was in good health, watching movies and word search games. He served in the National Guard, also the Army. He worked for the forestry, planting trees in the Tillamook burn area. He also worked in the plywood mill on the blimp base in Tillamook as well as the Tillamook General Hospital. After moving to the Portland area, he worked at Providence St. Vincent Hospital.
