Obituary of Barbara Fay Lowe
On April 24, 2019, Barbara Fay Lowe passed peacefully with her loving family in her heart. She was born Barbara Fay DeGeer in 1934 in Strong City, OK and moved to Newberg, OR as a teenager where she graduated from Newberg High in 1953. In 1953, she married Morton Hewitt Lowe of Dundee, OR. Shortly after their marriage, they relocated to LaVerne, CA where they lived for nearly 40 years raising five children. Barbara was an executive for So. Cal Gas Co. (SEMPRA) for 33 years, back when women executives were not the norm. As her children were also graduating from college, she achieved a Bachelor's Degree with valedictorian honors. Upon retirement, Barbara and Morton returned to Newberg to build their dream home where she enjoyed being close to her brothers and sisters and lovingly raised two grandsons. She was a loyal wife to her husband of sixty five years, mother to five children and grandmother to eight grandchildren. Barbara had a smart sense of humor and always put others first. An artist in her garden and kitchen and an excellent seamstress, she was a classy, beautiful lady that will forever be in our hearts. We have been blessed to have her as our own and will miss her always. Barbara is survived by her husband, Morton Lowe, her son, Loren Lowe (JoAnn), and daughters Jerri Sandell (Tony), Dianne Marie McDermott (David), Janet Phinick (Brad), Brenda Newton (Eric) and her siblings James DeGeer (Joyce), Bonnie Beaudoin, and George DeGeer (Lisa).
