Obituary of Marvin Lloyd Beeber
Marvin passed away Friday, October 18 after suffering a stroke earlier in the day. His entire extended family was fortunate to have the opportunity to say good-bye. Marvin “Marv” was born August 19, 1938 in Bakersfield CA to Agnes Black and Heron Beeber. Marv and his brother Bill were raised in Bakersfield until Marv was 13 when the family moved to Springfield. A year later they moved to Portland where he attended Benson High School. Marv was a triple threat playing football, wrestling and baseball. He met the love of his life, Joan Sanders and on August 25, 1956 at the age of 18 they were married. 10 months later they were blessed with the arrival of a son, Doug, followed by daughters Debbie, Denise and Donna. Marv was a union plasterer retiring in 1997. He loved to travel and was especially fond of central Oregon. For approximately 10 years Marv coached Little League, Babe Ruth and high school baseball teams. He was everyone’s dad, grandpa and friend. His kids, grandkids and great grandkids friends adopted him into their families. He never missed any of his grandchildren’s or great-grandchildren’s sporting events as long as he was able. Marv is survived by his wife of 63 years Joan, children Doug (Elena), Debbie (Doug), Denise (Fred), Donna (Carl), 7 grandchildren, 5 grandchildren-in-law, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 soon to be great-grandchild. Marv loved his family, his other love being a lifelong Yankees fan. In 2012 he was able to fulfill a dream by taking a trip to New York to see the Yankees play in person. At Marv’s request, there will be no service.
