Obituary of Julie Pease Bergeron
Julie Pease Bergeron, age 74, of Lake Oswego Oregon, passed away on September 22, 2020, two weeks after learning of her cancer diagnosis, and just under ten years since her kidney transplant in early October, 2010. Julie was born in New Milford, Connecticut on March 12, 1946 to Howard Edson and Helen Danahy Pease. She graduated from New Milford High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science Childhood Education degree from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York, and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Pace University in New York City, New York. Julie was married to Charles Edward Bergeron on August 17, 1968; they were married 52 years. Julie worked as first/second grade teacher for over eight years in New York State until moving to Lake Oswego, Oregon in 1976 where she and Charles raised their two daughters.During this time, Julie was very involved in the community serving in numerous positions including: board member of the Mountain Park Home Owners Association, treasurer of Citizens of Mountain Park (COMP), vice-president of the Parry Center for Children auxiliary helping to raise funds for the Southeast Portland facility for emotionally disturbed children, and member of the Uplands Elementary Parent Teacher Board. Julie loved her family and friends dearly and particularly loved celebrating all holidays with them. She was known for her over-the-top holiday decorations and being a phenomenal hostess, which brought so much joy to everyone that knew her. One of her favorite things to do was making holiday wreaths and giving them to family and friends. Julie also loved music and dancing, and particularly spending time with her family at the beach.Those that loved her will most miss her beautiful smile, witty sense of humor, and loving and caring heart. Julie is survived by her spouse, Charles Edward Bergeron; grandchildren, Ella Oliva, Robbie Durbin, Samantha Oliva, and Nick Durbin; two daughters, Corrie Oliva and Ali Durbin and spouses Jon Oliva and Joel Durbin; sister Alice Pease Woodford and husband Robert Woodford; brother, Dr. Howard Pease and wife Kate Pease; sisters in-law Diane Bergeron and Mary Suchopar and husband Michael Suchopar; nieces Kraleigh Woodford, Amy Russell, Dr. Hillary Woodford Lawrence,Emily Soanes, and Kate Mitchell; and nephews Clifton Pease, Ben Suchopar, Jill Bergeron, Pete Bergeron, and Jimmy Bergeron. Julie is preceded in death by her parents Howard Edson and Helen Danahy Pease; father in-law Charles Bergeron; mother in-law Eileen Bergeron; brother in-law Joe Bergeron; sister in-law Sue Bergeron; and nephew Rob Woodford. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on October 9th at Our Lady of the Lake parish.Due to COVID 19, the family is only allowed to have a small number of people in attendance by invite only.As such, the service will be available via livestream.The link will be available that day on the Our Lady of the Lake church website at https://www.ollparish.com/liturgy/funerals/.
