Obituary of Ted L. Nisley

Ted L. Nisley left this world suddenly and unexpectedly on October 1, 2018. He was born October 10, 1956 in Redmond, Oregon, the first of three children born to James and Lena Nisley. Ted attended school in Culver where he was a member of the FFA and played Football, Baseball, and Wrestled, for which he placed 3rd in State. In 1978, he married Carlene Rice. They lived and worked at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort for a short time before relocating to the Portland area, ultimately settling in Aloha, where they raised their family and invested in their work and church communities. Ted worked for several decades in the Roofing industry, most recently working in his dream job as a consultant for Fisher Roofing. He was also dedicated to his church community, New Vision Fellowship, where he spent countless hours investing in people’s lives through counsel and prayer. He had a passion for prayer that has affected thousands of people - even nationally as he served on the National Prayer Summit leadership team for the Free Methodist Church of North America. He also served many years on the Oregon Conference Leadership Council as well as the Encounter Prayer ministry team that would go to various churches to encourage and strengthen them.Ted’s passion was serving God and ministering to people, a passion that was born out of a transforming love relationship with Jesus. However, Ted’s greatest love here on Earth was his family. He never missed an opportunity to tell them that he loved them, and was always available for a phone call, a hug, or time spent together. He is survived by Carlene, his wife of 40 years, his three children, Nicole Beadnell (Scott), Daniel Nisley (Galina), Jennifer Thompson (Matt), and 5 grandchildren, Daniel Nisley (7), and Ellie (6), Cody (3), Hadley (2 mo.), and Daphne (2 mo.) Beadnell. He is also survived by his mother, Lena Nisley, sister Kellee Hartleben (Larry), and preceded in death by his Father, James Nisley, and Brother, Bill Nisley. On October 13th at 1:30pm a service will be held at Portland First Church of the Nazarene: 6100 SW Raab Road, Portland, Oregon 97221.
