Obituary of James Robert Parry

James Robert Parry was born September 11, 1968, in Oregon City, Oregon, to John and Nina Parry (Sherwood.) Jim, Jimmy, or J.J. as he was known to me, (Aunt Diane) was married to Raelyn Acorn and they have three beautiful children – Nina Jessica, Alicia Rae and James “J.J.” Parry who are all wonderful young adults now. Jim was very close with his grandparents, (my parents), Jim and Ruth (Nana) Sherwood, and he lived in West Linn, Oregon City and most recently in Beaverton where he passed away this past December 17th, 2018, of lung cancer. Jim was very smart, talented, artistic and creative - he was able to fix all kinds of things mechanical. He owned his own successful landscaping business at one time and was thinking recently of opening a bike repair shop. On a more personal note, Jim was a very generous and loving individual and I loved him dearly. He was funny and sharp, witty – we loved to trade quips. It is very unfortunate that many years of his life were lost to substance abuse, which he turned to as a way of coping with a difficult childhood wrought with stress and abandonment. We were very close but I was unable to take away the pain that chased him to the end. Love your family. My precious nephew will forever be in my heart. Remember him well.
