Obituary of Don F. Swift

Don Swift, 89, of Tigard, Oregon, passed away February 2, 2019 at Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland. A Memorial Service will be held at the El Dorado Mobile Villas clubhouse at 17055 SW El Dorado Dr., Tigard, Oregon on February 10, 2019 at 3:00pm with a reception to follow. Reverend John Wild officiating. Donald Swift was born Sebastopol, California to Fay and Vivian Swift on February 5, 1929. He graduated from Napa High School in Napa, California in 1947. He married Anne Messinger on August 27, 1950 in the Methodist Church in Napa. He went to work for Basalt Rock Block Plant in Napa as a Teamster truck driver, delivering their products all over Northern California, for over forty years. he was an active member in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in both American Canyon and Napa, California. He taught Sunday school and Bible Studies to all age groups. Don is preceded in death by his father and mother, Fay and Vivian Swift. Don is survived by his wife of 68 years, Anne, daughters, Karenanne Swift and Linda Miller, sons Don Swift and Jim Swift, seven grand children and four great grand children. He also leaves behind his sister, Jean Scott of Napa, California, and two cousins, Sally Swift-Gregg of Des Moines, Washington and Jim Azbill of Sacramento, California. He will be laid to rest at Napa Valley Memorial Park in Napa, California at a later date. Funeral preparations were provided by Autumn Funerals, Cremation & Burial in Tigard, Oregon.
